'Vago y Siete' is a piece inspired by Mexico. The title translates to 'Vagabond and Seven'. Vago refers to a good friend, Luis Amezcua, from Veracruz, MX who lives in Mahahual, MX, where he has his Dive & Adventure Tour Business. During our last visit to Quintana Roo in February 2018, Amy and I had some fascinating Scuba Dives along the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System, where we had the pleasure of swimming with all kinds of beautiful fish, turtles, gigantic coral formations, and even nurse sharks...which is where the 'Siete' in the title comes from. Number 7 is the name of the 6'-7' nurse shark that lives near the Banco Chinchorro National Park. This beautiful creature swam with us almost the entire dive on Amy's birthday! It was one for the picture books, for sure!
Follow your passion, and Enjoy! Alfie

'All You Need is Love' is an acrylic black and white painting on a hand woven canvas. This colorful canvas is woven using a traditional Mayan back-strap loom and a rainbow of string. This is a portrayal of an excerpt from the piano sheet music to the classic Beatles' tune 'All You Need is Love'.
Enjoy! Alfie Welcome to San Pedro La Laguna, Lago Atitlan, Guatemala. This is a favorite spot of Amy's and mine for practicing the art of letting go. It is only with empty hands that we may receive the abundance of Pacha Mama. Love and Gratitude,
Alfie This is a fun meditation I did once: Close your eyes. Feel your canvas in front of you. Drop your instrument of choice to the surface; and begin drawing, one continuous line, with eyes shut. Then open your eyes, and fill in the always amazing picture that was hiding beneath your empty canvas. What do you see here? I would love to hear from you. Love & Gratitude,
Alfie I just submitted this fun piece for a local art contest! They are picking the winner on Halloween!
If you want to see the back side (PG-13), send me a message with your email, and I will give you a private viewing! Enjoy! Love & Gratitude, Alfie Lately I have felt a call to finish up any projects that were abandoned. There are a few, as I tend to jump back and forth from one project to the next, one medium to another. It has been very cleansing...kind of like a big deep exhale...making space for new abundance to fill!
I began making Thai Fisherman pants in 2012. I love visiting the old clothing graveyards, searching out the most unique, most beautiful pieces, and bringing them back to life! Mama loves it when we recycle our 'trash'! Love and Gratitude, Alfie "De Ida y Vuelta" |
